Our Gallifrey Project was a unique, mid-century design inspired by the works of Joseph Eichler. Touching on the essence of the Californian beach, Gallifrey brings a combination of wooden accents, sleek fittings and artistic lighting.
The goal for these clients was to bring the natural landscape inside by incorporating elements of stone, timber and concrete in conjunction with large windows and indoor-outdoor integration. The central decking area was inspired by atriums that are frequently seen in Eichler’s designs, and composite decking in this space acknowledges the limitations of hardwood as it weathers.
The floor to ceiling tiles around the fireplace, are a reference to Brutalist Architecture which emerged in the UK in the 1950’s when projects were being reconstructed post-war. This perfectly compliments the polished concrete floors which are not only on trend, but are also incorporated to reduce dust & allergens from pets.
Other unique features of this iconic home include Modinex Aluminium Cladding that reflects nature and withstands weather, Hooblerstone feature walls bringing a mix of colour and texture and the prestigious Classic Deluxe Cooker from Falcon Australia.
